LAS VEGAS AND LAWRENCE, KS VICTIMS

SAS - STANDS UNITED WITH YOU!

We at SAS are saddened by the cowardice attacks on innocent victims in both Las Vegas and

Lawrence, KS!  Our thoughts and prayers are with all those affected by these tragedies!

If you know of our company, you know we teach tragic incident response techniques, and tactical skills to survive ill fated attacks, such as these!  Several news outlets showed countless, selfless acts of courage by many everyday heroes!  Many were visitors that acted immediately to assist those in need at that crucial time.  Evil people do evil things and we may be lost for words explaining why it occurred.  It cannot be controlled or stopped as evidenced in these two instances.  It just happens!  However, we can make ourselves and others safer!

Here are some great pointers going forward, when it happens in your town or city.

  1. Believe it can happen to you, anywhere!  It has, in every state across America, every day.

  2. Always be aware of your surroundings!  Put the phone down and watch where you’re going.  Never be on the phone between two points of travel from A to B.

  3.  Run, Hide, Fight!  If you can run, then run!  If you can hide, then hide! If you have to fight, then fight with speed, surprise and violence of action! Use whatever items you have available to ensure your safety and those around you.

  4. Cover and concealment: Cover is anything a bullet won’t penetrate; concealment is for hiding.  Think; big rocks, cars, buses, semis, concrete VS. Curtains, doors, sheetrock walls, furniture, etc.

  5. Communicate: Process the incident quickly, talk with others and move rapidly to a safe zone and take others with you! You could save multiple lives, not just your own.

These are just a few quick principles to live by.  Be aware, be safe and if you have any questions, please contact us for answers.  Sign up for our free SAS Resource Network and stay up to date!  Learn ways to stay safe and protect yourself, loved ones and others!
